When I paint a church, I like to include natural elements
around it. I think that God meets us where we are. He is in
nature as well as in His house. I chose red, white and blue
for this painting of the Converse United Methodist Church
because churches are a huge part of our rural American
heritage, just like Fourth of July parades, fireworks and
picnics.
